The Design Group, South Florida's Best Kept Secret and their Multicultural design team invaded the South Beach Wine & Food Festival with their luxury designs and high end interpretations

February 23, 2009, Miami, Florida— This year’s Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival has come to a successful end for The Design Group of Miami (TDG), named 2009’s preferred décor and production vendor at the event servicing 14 clients including Food Network, Whole Foods Market who is a new Platinum Sponsor and the new title sponsor of the Grand Tasting Village; Sagatiba and Wines from Spain. Enhancing the presentation of the fine wine and high quality fare from top chefs, TDG added luxury and style to the festival tents and vendors’ displays, which in all has been summed up as the best Wine & Food festival yet.

From conception to creation, under the direction of Jean Augustin, President & Creative Director at TDG Miami, TDG not only built the stages to showcase top wines and foods but they also constructed lounges and hospitality areas for sponsors. They were also proud to be a part of one of the most highly anticipated events under the tents at the Wine & Food Festival, the opening ceremony celebrating the King and Queen of Spain. This very special ribbon cutting ceremony, held under the TDG-designed Wines from Spain tent, kicked off the festival with style and class. Adjacent to the Wines from Spain tent was the Whole Foods Market, offering delicious organic fare in a space created by TDG that made festival guests feel like they were right there in the market with no detail left out to the design. Situated in the Grand Tasting Village among many vendors was the liveliest and most unique liquor outpost yet, the Sagatiba bar which was thoughtfully designed by Spoon + Fork Studio in NYC and translated impeccably by Augustin and his team. Delicious rum shots with sugar dipped strawberries were doled out and signature caipirinhas shaken and served at their sleek, custom-built bar, perfect to compliment South Beach style. This was The Design Group Miami’s third year working with the SOBE Wine & Food Festival and the most involved ever with the festival itself naming TDG their preferred décor and production vendor. “It was an honor to work with the festival so closely this year”, said Dionne Anderson, TDG COO and Managing Partner. “From the moment we signed our contracts last summer our VP of Sales, Dale Moore began laying the ground work with each Sponsor while Jean Augustin, our President & Creative Director led the Creative team and focused on renderings and architectural drawings ensuring that each clients visions were fully developed and details were met. I was personally impressed with the International flair the Festival added with the King and Queen of Spain’s ribbon cutting ceremony during its trade day opening and most importantly our Team produced each element of the host tent”.
